What's in a name? Epikos is the Greek word for Epic which is defined as “A long narrative poem written in elevated style, in which heroes of great historical or legendary importance perform valorous deeds. The setting is vast in scope, covering great nations, the world, or the universe, and the action is important to the history of a nation or people.” For us, our Epic is the Gospels, our legendary Hero is Jesus Christ the lion of the tribe of Judah, and his valorous deeds are a sinless life, a horrific death, and a beautiful resurrection. |
